ROCKS TO ROMANS
This term Year 3 have been transported way, way, back in time to a land where stones and rocks were the landscape and resources for early mankind. We began our learning journey with a day in the life of a Stone Age person. The children were able to create their own cave paintings, build their own dens in the forest and use their senses to describe what they could see, hear and smell.
We have been investigating how life has changed over time, and how man became resourceful and clever with their tools and how they looked after their animals. The children have also been making their own marvellous models of Stonehenge in mixed media of their choice.
We have visited the Museum of Kent Life and will be visited by Jeremy Kimmel from the Museum of Tunbridge Wells and we will also be visited by the incredible History Man who will deliver a Roman workshop with the children.
This half term we will be learning about The Romans and their impact on Britain, focusing on the invasion and the British resistance. We will be studying the great Boudicca and her Iceni tribe.
