Christmas tree dedication Langton Green 2016

Remembrance Sunday Parade November 2016

“Excitedly we gathered in Crescent Road car park, waiting for everyone to arrive.  There was a short delay as the bands prepared their instruments, ready for the march (Mr Cornelius got his second coffee in five minutes!)  Shortly afterwards we joined the march behind the St John’s Ambulance squad and they gave us a 30 second drill lesson!

Soon after that we found ourselves marching along with everyone else.  The service was very thought-provoking because we remembered all the people that had died for us in the wars.  At 11 o’clock the bells of Big Ben sounded through the loud speaker and a cannon fired, which made us jump!

After the service we spectated the last march past and we were lucky enough to get guest tickets to meet the Mayor in his chambers.  We all had juice and some delicious mini cakes before we had our picture taken with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor (Kirin’s Grandmother).  I enjoyed the amazing opportunity and would definitely like to go next year.”  By Reuben, Year 5
